11SMn37 free-cutting steel is a low-carbon steel alloy with added sulfur and manganese, specially designed for excellent machinability in high-speed machining processes. The sulfur and manganese inclusions improve chip breaking, reduce tool wear, and make this steel suitable for automated production of precision parts.
11SMn37 free-cutting alloy steel typically contains 0.34-0.40% sulfur, which enhances machinability without compromising surface finish. 11SMn37 is commonly used in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and automotive components.
Additionally, 11SMn37’s composition allows for smooth, continuous cutting, reducing friction and heat buildup. This makes it ideal for high-efficiency, long-running production.
