It is manufactured from high-strength carbon steel or alloy steel, with different steel grades (such as J55, N80, P110) used depending on the geology and well depth.
Core applications of oil casing:
Supporting the wellbore (preventing collapse): During drilling and after completion, it acts as a lining for the wellbore, supporting external pressure and maintaining wellbore stability.
Isolating formations: It separates different layers with varying pressures and geological characteristics (such as oil, gas, and water layers), preventing complex downhole situations.
Ensuring circulation: It provides an upward channel for drilling mud, ensuring smooth drilling operations.
Securing the wellhead: In conjunction with cement cementing, it firmly connects the pipe string to the formation.
